Cobra Puma Golf with STS Charity Pro-Am 2022: Golfing from the heart

The Cobra Puma Golf with STS Charity Pro-Am 2022 was held from Sep 9th to Sep 11th at Laguna Lang Co Golf Club. It once again proved its reputation for being the most fun, unique and meaningful tournament of the year within Vietnam and the SEA region.

After missing 2020, the scale of the Cobra Puma Pro Am this year increased substantially compared to previous years, with 28 teams consisting of 1 Pro and 3 Amateurs from as far away as Australia and many other countries from within the region, competing against each other in 2 days event under a Texas Scramble format.

To make it more unique, Cobra Puma Golf Vietnam, along with the support from Sports Turf Solutions, Lighthouse Group Indochina, Laguna Lang Co Golf Club, and other valuable partners, added a number of exclusive entertaining activities during the event, such as a Cobra LTDX club demo with Trackman to give realtime feedback, Pro long drive competition, minigames, ‘flop the wall’ challenge for the Pros and many more exciting events. Not only was it about fun, and for everyone to enjoy golf on the Puma side of life, but also the very serious side of raising money for a worthy cause.

An incredible amount of VND 938 million was raised over the 2-day event, which has been donated to Understanding the Heart Foundation. This allows underprivileged children with life threatening heart conditions to have the operation they need.

With such an amazing amount of money contributed by the competitors for the kids, Mr. Greg McIntosh (GM – Cobra Puma Golf Vietnam) had the following to say: “This year event exceeded all expectations on the charity front, for what we thought was possible in such a short period of time. It highlights the quality of the individuals that compete in the event, their generosity and overall enthusiasm, it is what makes this tournament such a success year after year.’

One highlight of the tournament belonged to golfer Michael Freeman who made the trip from Cambodia for the event, who scored a HOLE IN ONE and took home 100.000.000VND in cash prize proudly sponsored by Event management Company and event Partner ICC GOLF.

Mr. Kiran Mistry, ambassador of Puma Golf Vietnam also attended the event shared: “The Cobra Puma Pro-Am has always been a great event because of the meaning behind it. The golfers here had similar mindset, which is to enjoy golf, compete for 2 days but still retain the focus of raising money for charity. Everything is exceptionally well organized from the rules, and condition of the golf course, to accommodations, hospitality through the whole weekend to the gear and team outfits.

Cobra Puma Golf Vietnam is set to host the event again at Laguna Lang Co in September 2023, to not only give back to those less fortunate but to host one of the most fun, exciting and alternative events on the annual regional golfing calendar.
